Restaurant Owners Uncorked is doing very well. It has great reviews on Amazon and it sold 153 copies last month (a record!). It is a popular book because it offers simple, practical advice from people who know what they are talking about – successful restaurant owners.
However, I always felt there was a gap with the book. You see, I was the only person who got to listen the owners’ voices since I conducted the interviews. So I was the only person lucky enough to hear their enthusiasm for what they do pour out as they talked. The passion was palpable in each conversation. The energy was contagious. At times I got chills. No kidding.
Needless to say, it was a phenomenal personal experience, and one that added tons of value to the content. Trust me, reading Dave Query’s thoughts on why you should be very careful when choosing your investors is very cool, but hearing him tell that story ain’t the same thing. It’s not even the same ball park. In fact, it’s not even the same sport (for you Pulp Fiction fans…yes, I borrowed the idea for that description).
So we decided to try something in 2012 to see if we could help capture that same magic for all of you…
As I mentioned in the video, we’ll see what kind of response the first three vids get, and determine if we do more of them. My hunch is that as awesome as the book is, these things have the potential to be even cooler.
